This year is going by so quickly! August was a busy month for us at Stonehurst Farm---I had two trips to Tennessee during which I had an opportunity to see some friends in West and in Middle Tennessee that I have not seen in a long time. My (only biological) niece had a bridal brunch with family members from both her side and her finance's side in Dickson the first part of August; the end of August, both Carl and I traveled up to the Nashville area for my niece's wedding. And, four wonderful couples came to the farm to get married during this month; we enjoyed meeting all of them and are grateful for the opportunity to share in their happiness. And, of course, the pets in our lives often get involved in greeting those who come to Stonehurst Farm....
This precious, hard-working couple have a beautiful family; Jaime and Carmen have been together several years and decided it was time to make their commitment to each other "official." Carl and I wish for them the best in all areas of their lives as they continue their journey together.
Shortly after Carmen and Jaime's ceremony, I headed up to West Tennessee for several days; a few days after I returned back to Jefferson, I received a telephone call from Sydney who asked me if I could do a ceremony for her and her Beloved on that day, August 19th. Fortunately, I was at home and able to come up with a ceremony which included lyrics from the bride's favorite song, "Love Me Tender."
This next couple met at their place of employment in Gainesville; I felt honored to be a part of their special day because my daughter-in-love recommended me to them! Emmett's work had him back home in the States for a few weeks and August 24th was the perfect day for Iko and Emmett to say their "I do's."
My next couple met one year ago when her daughter, who is an engineering major at Georgia Tech, decided her mom needed to meet a nice guy and put her mom's profile on an Internet dating site! Well, the algorithms did their magic and connected Jim and Choo Fong...and, the rest is history! This couple, her daughter, his son and his family, plus some friends came to Stonehurst Farm on Friday, August 26th, for their ceremony. Love is the thread which connects us all.
